Sport Specific Training

If you are looking to improve your performance level in a specific sport we can help develop a supplemental program that will help you develop your sport specific skills. We understand the unique needs that competitive athletes require to be prepared for the demands of sport. Through challenging mental and physical skills and drills we focus on core elements related to balance, strength and athletic movement to assure neuromuscular responsiveness. We also delve into the mindset of an athlete.

We start with a complete assessment of athletic mobility and skills then we integrate strength, movement and balance in progressive training.

Workouts will focus on the following areas:

Speed: Whether this is the legs of a runner or the arm of the shot putter-Speed is an integral part of every sport and can be expressed as any one of, or combination of, the following: maximum speed, elastic strength (power) and speed endurance.

Force: Moving fast is about force production. The harder you can drive off the ground, the faster you will move. The stronger you are, the harder you can drive off the ground. Thus, the stronger you are, the more force you can produce, which directly translates into speed.

Agility: Agility is the ability to rapidly and accurately change the direction of the body at speed. It necessitates a combination of speed, balance, power and coordination.

Power: The ability to exert maximum muscular contraction instantly in an explosive burst of movements. The two components of power are strength and speed. (e.g. jumping or a sprint start)
